It is very much a shame that 3985 might never run again, now that Big Boy 4014 has taken over as the largest and most powerful articulated steamer in the world… However, we can sit back and enjoy a time not so long ago with this DVD. Great job, Highball Productions! Steve Lee and his crew had her shined up and performing better than ever on this trip to Minnesota.

Before the Chase from Cheyenne to Saint Paul Began, Crewmember Lyndon Nystrom took a tour of the cab of 3985. At the same time, Les Jarrett of Railway Productions was also at the September 2008 visit. Today, the challenger is still in pieces at the Cheyenne Shops.

This is a really good video of the Challenger; photography is exceptional. I do have one question I wish someone would explain. The diesel running behind the last water tender seems to be running on out of round wheels. In many of the shots it is seen bouncing up and down. None of the cars seem to be doing this.

The 3985’s trip from Cheyenne to Saint Paul was covered very well by the camera teams. Lots of good pacing shots. Only the 3985 was pulling a short train most of the way, & was not working much at all. Some great start up shots tho. Also a cab tour. Being a die hard 3985 fan, I have watched it 2 times, and I reccomend it. You will enjoy it.
