A history of steamboats on the Mississippi & Ohio Rivers, including great vintage film of riverboats from the 1920s to 2008! Most of these boats are long gone today. We see towboats, packets, excursion boats and ore, all of them steam powered. The main program runs 52 minutes but we’ve added extra footage of sternwheeler towboats, Herbert Hoover’s trip in 1929, the boat “Gordon C. Greene” and even a small sternwheeler built in 1999. There’s also a preview of “Delta Queen 75th Anniversary” so the show runs a total of 87 minutes.
