With traffic up by 50 per cent since the Union Pacific took over the Chicago and North Western, UP’s Geneva Sub between Chicago and Clinton, Iowa hosts the most freight trains in its 150 year history, and at times can be quite congested. This program shows all the trains for nearly 32 hours between Geneva, the end of the commuter district, and Nelson, where a former CNW secondary line heads south to St. Louis in August of 2004. Many of the trains are led by new diesels with wings on their nose and the American flag on their sides.
