The Norfolk & Western pulled more than coal out of Appalachia, it also brought people in and out of the area – and in style. This is a look at the N&W’s steam passenger power.
This show features the 4-8-2 K1 and K2 classes, the 4-6-2 P class, the 4-8-0 class M, and of course the mighty J Class, the 4-8-4 powerhouse still represented to this day by #611. We will see all this magnificent power on fantastic 16mm film on mainles and branchlines in the 1950s.
We get to see both of 611’s premature retirements, in 1959 and 1994!
