Railroads of Western Pennsylvania – Winter 98/99

Visit the railroads of Western Pennsylvania during the months of November 1998-March 1999 with Neff Video and videographer Bob Sechler. Highlights included are: Wheeling and Lake Erie grain trains with a myriad of power, snow scenes on Conrail’s (now NS) Pittsburgh Line, and the winter wonderland of CSX’s Sand Patch Grade’s east and west slopes, plus many other subjects sure to please. Power includes units from CSX, Conrail, NS, W&LE, Wisconsin Central, BNSF, Cotton Belt, Amtrak, Rio Grande and many more.

Some of the locations visited are: Connellsville, Gratztown, Greensburg, Sand Patch, Robinson Stop Station, Donohoe, Wilmerding, Markleton, Salisbury Viaduct, Latrobe, plus many others. As usual, many scenic vistas are shown.

    Originally released in 1999, this Un-Narrated program features a huge variety of diesels on not only Conrail & CSX, but also Norfolk Southern, BNSF, Amtrak’s Capitol Limited & Pennsylvanian, Wisconsin Central, Wheeling & Lake Erie, Missouri Pacific, Rio Grande, Santa Fe, Canadian Pacific & Soo Line.

    Locations include Sand Patch Tower, Robinson, the town of Northeast, Lower Tyrone Township, Bellview road crossing, Greene junction tower, Clarksville, Besco, 10 Mile Creek Yacht Club, Street running through West Brownsville as well as entering the yard, Grapeville, VI tower in Connellsville, Gratztown, Greensburg, Donohoe, Latrobe station & park, Loyalhanna creek bridge, Wilmerding, Markleton, Sailsbury viaduct & crossing, Heckle bridge, Pony Farm Road, Wegley crossing, & Elrama near Shire Oaks Yard.

    All of these scenes were captured by Bob Sechler.
