The 1960s were a time for change in the railroad industry. Passenger train service was diminishing. Freight service was not holding its own on many roads. The first DVD in this set covers the Missouri Pacific, Norfolk & Western, Gulf Mobile & Ohio, Pennsylvania Railroad, Frisco and Manufacturers Railroad (Owned by Anheuser Busch). The second DVD covers more changes into the 1970s with the Chicago & North Western, Chesapeake and Ohio, Baltimore and Ohio, South Shore, Milwaukee Road, Katy, Santa Fe, TRRA, CB&Q. Enjoy!

Originally released in 1992, this 2-Part series covers the twilight of Diesel freight & passenger operations on almost each & every fallen flag road names in the United States.
There are a bunch of long gone but not forgotten road names like the Chicago & Northwestern, Baltimore & Ohio, Santa Fe, Chesapeake & Ohio, the South Shore line’s electric interurbans, Milwaukee Road, MKT, Burlington, & so much more.

I really enjoy “Odyssey” railroad videos. An odyssey is a long journey with changes in the fortune. So, the idea is to see “changes”. Well, that part is true in this video…. we do see changes. However, there are 15 rail systems covered in the video, in under 110 minutes which is what disappointed me. To many railroads are seen in to short a period of time. Yes, I enjoy this video, but I hesitate on recommending it based on the title and on the amount of coverage that was crammed into the production.
