Nearly two hours of the best vantage point…above the action. Never see a telephone pole in your way again! This all drone show couples the air action with sound from the ground, so you get the best of both worlds. The sound is turn-it-up good. There is no narration, but on screen graphics provide train symbols and information as well as locations on the line.
We’ll see Horseshoe Curve, Gallitzin, Tyrone, South Fork and more. And the backdrop to all of this action is the most beautiful fall colors. At Horseshoe Curve the view from the air mimics the old postcards of the curve. Up in the air, or in the air but level with the trains, or across a valley – you really get to place the trains in the scenery and see the geography that dictated the route.

They’re locations you’ve seen in any number of railfan videos, but not like this! The airborne view itself is fresh and exciting, and that alone would have been enough to make this a “must have”. But the video in this program is much more than a static overhead perspective, with a creative mix of shots hovering over trains at different altitudes, scenes pacing passing trains or moving toward approaching trains, and wide shots that let you see the railroad in an entirely new way relative to its surroundings. The autumn colors are beautiful, and the sound is very well done. In a word: fantastic!
