Former Denver & Rio Grande Western Rotary Snowplow OY was restored for the two-day event to kick-off the Cumbres & Toltec’s 50th year of operation.
br>The OY was joined by K-36 class Mikado’s #487 & 484, and together they put on a great show as they pushed the rotary up the 4% grade between Chama & Cumbres Pass.

In the belt line version of the Leap Year weekend 2020 coverage of Rotary Snowplow OY on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, a pair of 1925 Baldwin built K36 class Mikados numbers 484 & 487 are using the Plow to operate between Chama New Mexico & the 10,015 foot Cumbres Colorado Summit for the very first time since it last ran in May of 1997.
