The program concludes with an “out-of-system” segment where BN power is seen in pool service on the Grand Trunk Western and Conrail. Motive power ranges from early Geeps to Wide-nose SD60’s, and many scenes feature the cars of the train…a popular feature with modelers and freight car fans! Neighboring roads Soo Line and Toledo, Peoria and Western are seen briefly, as well as Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific.

Part 2 of this series covers the Chicago, Alliance, Nebraska, and Ottumwa, Iowa areas.

  1. Aw

Big fan of the Burlington Northern. A lot of lot of variety. I think Clear Block Productions was one of the best producers on the market. It is a shame that he didn’t get to produce more videos.

  2. Junior

This is a wonderful series on the Burlington Northern. It is great to see tape of a railroad that is now gone – but that had such a colorful history and great looking locomotives. This first tape really focuses on the last few years of the BN.
