Lafayette, Indiana is a long-time railroad hot spot. Your visit to Lafayette will include: A constant parade of trains on Norfolk Southern’s former Wabash mainline, a stand of operating semaphores on CSX’s old Monon mainline, Alco’s on the KB&S, as well as an overview of railroading in the area. There is a great variety of railroading in Lafayette, and if you like contemporary action, you’ll see lots of it in this fine program.Lafayette used to feature mainline street running – travel back in time to see CSX trains on the old Monon main on 5th street through downtown Lafayette! See the relocated Big Four Depot (part of the effort to get the tracks out of the street) and action on the shortline KB&S. A bonus is footage aboard a NYC passenger train in the 1950s. Chapter Menu provides instant access to program segments. Watch the program with or without narration.

Here is a video with great variety of diesels and Amtrak. NS & CSX puts on a great show with their heavy trains passing through town. Very interesting to see some old Alcos & the old semaphores working. 5 stars for sure on this one.

  2. Mwdonoughue

This program features CSX and NS freights and Amtrak passenger trains in and around Lafayette, along with a flashback to 1994 when trains ran in the middle of the street.

  3. collinvarney24

Lafayette Indiana shows a variety of trains from the Norfolk Southern and CSX plus some Amtrak.

  4. Zac

Great video of the present and giving the past of all the lines that traveled around and through Lafayette. The semaphores and Alco units were a surprise.
