I can’t believe that it’s been almost 10 years since this program have already been released for all Railfans to enjoy. The difference is that 844 is no longer wearing a red Mars light since 2013, and narrator Lane Venardos passed away a few months after this program has been released. It is unknown how lane died, but what we do know is that since the second half of 2011 Les Jarrett himself got back into the narrating business. The May 2009 footage was shown on the Topics entertainment Blu-Ray only program: HD moods trains, and the April 2010 footage of 844 is shown in Steam Giants with 4449 & 765 in 2009, which 2 of these Lima Ohio built engines are shown in brief clips during the opening of this video.

There are a handful of some Railway productions programs on Amazon prime video, but unfortunately, this program is unavailable and also been discontinued for streaming service. Oh and happy 150 to the golden spike, plus welcome back Big Boy 4014.

Great video on the 844. A must have for any UP steam fan.

Finest video on the 844. 844 was built by ALCO (American Locomotive Company) in December of 1944. It was the last steam locomotive purchased new for the railroad and has remained on the Union Pacific roster ever since. Excursion trips between May 2009 and September 2010.
