See the BNSF’s Stevens Pass line with modern diesels and big vintage steam! With video shot between Gold Bar and Trinidad Loop we go from rainforest to desert, via the Columbia River. Painted power ranges from Burlington Northern green SD40’s, ATSF War Bonnets, Oakway lease power, Heritage 2, all the way to SP 4449 in fine steam! Pine trees and steep grades in the mountains, stunning scenery in the Columbia River gorge and the Trinidad Loop – all in sunshine for a change.

BNSF puts on an excellent show here with so many different paint schemes . Warbonnets, cascade greens, pumpkin orange units are all a hi-lite. The geographic change of the landscape is also very interesting to see as we are taken on a tour through the great forest region and end in semi-desert lands. To add to the railfan interest is the SP 4449 with an employee special. Lots of variety for everyone to see.

Almost 2 decades in the making. BNSF’s Stevens Pass shows dramatic scenery in the state of Washington. Cascade tunnel is the scenic highlight of the trip. Southern Pacific 4449 is the star performer of the movie as she leads an employee appreciation special in the summer of 2000 in a glossary black and silver scheme with BNSF decals on the locomotive. Pentrex and Machines of Iron were also on hand for the event. It’s a great show but the only problem is that there are no special features in the movie and also no chapters to skip through. You have to watch the whole movie in one chapter just like VCR days. But if you’re a fan of BNSF or Daylight 4449, this is the show for you to enjoy.
