Awesome action and heavy duty railroading through deep cuts, around horseshoe curves and up steep grades! We return to BNSF’s Nebraska helper district, where heavy coal trains struggle up the 1.55% grade over Pine Ridge and through Crawford Hill’s famous twin horseshoe curves. Lots of sound and fury as sets of SD70MAC diesels assault the grade aided by sets of SD60M helpers. You’ll also see older power on manifests and intermodals, including former Santa Fe “warbonnets” and Cascade Green SD40-2’s.

A nice follow-up to Highball’s “Crawford Hill” video. Only seven years have passed since that 1995 release, but the BNSF merger is going strong and there’s a lot of orange on the hill.
The same heavy trains, steep grades, horseshoe curves and spectacular scenery, and there’s still plenty of pre-merger BN green. Highball’s usual great camerawork showcases all the best known Crawford Hill locations. It’s well worth the price to own them both!

Ok… why purchase a video on a region the same producer did only 7 years before? My wife questioned my sanity on that one. This is post-merger times. And the power working the Hill has changes. New BNSF unit’s have arrived. And still many pre-merger power remains, adding to a very colourful array of power. Crawford Hill is one of those locations that seeing it once… is just not enough. (I know having been there 2 times now, and wanting to go again). Great video Highball.

This show is one of my favorites. SD60Ms, SD70MACs, SD60s, UP power, it is crazy. though sometimes you can notice his camera had some problems as the quality gets weird.
