Over 300 trains and 1,000,000 people use Howrah Station, across the Hooghly River from Calcutta (now Kolkata), every day! 5′ 6″ gauge trains, with people hanging from the doors, EMU’s and both diesel and electric hauled passenger trains, from locals to Rajdhani Expresses. The trains are colorful and full of character, the diesel locomotives are Indian built Alco models, delightfully smokey, in a variety of types and colors. Howrah, with swarms of people everywhere, is India’s largest station. We also visit Kamarkundu Junction and Kolaghat Junction for more passenger trains and some freight trains.

Here again another good train film, this tim from beautiful Calcutta. 300 trains and millions of people use these trains each year. See people hanging from the doors of the narrow gauge trains. See the Rajdhani Expre@s train in all uts color, and lots of other coloful trains. Great scenery as well. Worth the money.
