One of North America’s iconic train watching locations, California’s Cajon Pass takes the trains of BNSF & UP through the San Bernardino Mountains. You’ll see BNSF and UP trains at some great railfan/train watching spots: Keenbrook, Blue Cut, Cajon, Sullivans Curve, Mormon Rocks, Steins Hill, Alray, Hill 57 and then at the summit – working hard up the grade, or in dynamics down grade.

Narration can be turned off and on. Dolby Audio.

Very  good DVD featuring trains of BNSF  and the UP from Keenbroook to Cajon summit, along with trains on the UP Palmdale cutoff that parallels the line, use the pass to reach Los Angeles and San Bernardino. It is crosses by I-15, the old US route 66, the Pacific Crest Trail and the San Andreas Fault (which is responsible for the geological features through the canyon.) Well worth it.

  2. Alan Ross

Railroading at it’s best on this Dvd. See lots of BNSF and Union Pacific trains. Lots of great scenery especially the Mormon Rocks. One thing is that you only see one side of the pass kinda disappointing, other than that a great film.

  3. Steve B

Having visited the area earlier this year I was greatly looking forward to reliving the awesome sight of trains slogging their way up the pass, I was not to be disappointed. The action is constant and well edited together. Only criticism would be that the commentary could be better perhaps giving more details on the trains seen. Also some diagrams showing the locations used would have be useful for anyone who doesn’t know the area.

  4. Alexandre

I highly recommand this dvd to everyone wants to see big power and lot of trains!

  5. California Railroad Man

Lots of trains and lots of variety. That’s the take-away on this video. My only negative comment is that we only get one side of the pass – where’s the east slope? What we do see is well presented, if occasionally the long trains drag a little on screen. A real variety of locomotives including some older units in Southern Pacific paint. Lots of tank cars on the pass!

  6. Kraig

This is one of the best places to see big trains in action. Lots of great scenery and lots of train action.

  7. Tuscaloosa

This tape really shows all the best locations including my favorite Mormon Rocks.

  8. Arthur Patzwald

great show on Cajon Pass in California with BNSF and Union Pacific

  9. Everywhere West

Railroading at a justifiably famous “hot spot”. Now with more railroading! See BNSF and Union Pacific trains in some great scenery.
