7idea Productions went to Cajon Pass in early 2011 to capture modern-day railroading at this spectacular place. We’ll begin in San Bernardino first thing in the morning and head east over the summit and through the Mojave Desert to Barstow.
br>Thrill to the sound of 10,000 foot-long stack trains grinding up the 2.2% grade and right into your living room! A great variety of trains are featured including mixed manifests, auto racks, coal and piggyback trains. We will visit famous locations such as Sullivan’s Curve, the Mormon Rocks, the daylighted tunnels at Alray and much more. There is plenty of action on BNSF’s new triple track main plus UP trains on the former SP Palmdale Cutoff, making a total of four main lines over Cajon! The high density of trains, noteworthy scenery and numerous photo locations has made this THE destination for railfans from all over the world! You’ll see why in “Cajon Pass, BNSF Railway’s Cajon Subdivision”.

  1. FRANK

Great video. Beautiful shots & scenery. 100% professional filming and narration. My only complaint is that there’s usually only 1 train per location, instead of lingering at sites and seeing multiple trains. However, this video is 2 hours long, so to linger would probably require a two-dvd set. Highly recommend!

Cajon Pass might be the most frequently done subject in railfan video (along with Tehachapi?), and this might be the best of the bunch. With a flair for dramatic, artistic video, 7idea always seems to push its topic to a new level. All the usual Cajon locations captured through exceptional videography and just the right amount of informative, entertaining narration. Another “must have” from 7idea!

  3. Alan Ross

Here again another great film about the BNSF. Going through some awesome scenery, in your face action also. A good film from 7idea, the story.line is great as well. 5 stars.

There are a lot of good shows on Cajon Pass, but this is the latest and greatest. I am always thrilled with the video work of the guys at 7idea. They tell a story, it is not just a train running by with nothing else. A great DVD.
