This program is something unusual: An event to honor the Doolittle Raiders, as they make their “Final Toast” to the other fallen comrades and survivors. That story is told through excerpts of the ceremony in Dayton. Our main focus however is the action with the B-25 Mitchell aircraft. After a brief history, we board B-25 Axis Nightmare for the flight from the Tri-State Warbird Museum There are a couple of B-25 flights with riders, before the 5 aircraft are fired-up and take off for Dayton and the flyover during a wreath-laying ceremony. This flight is captured on the ground, in the air from one aircraft looking at the others, and inside 2 other aircraft during the “pull” or missing man segment.

If you like B-25’s, WW2 History, or the Doolittle Raid this video is a must.

    Here’s the segments:

    1. Friday November 8th: a ride on Axis Nightmare with Paul Redlich & Phil Roundtree for Pilot & Co-Pilot & Ben Vaughn for the Crew Chief from the Tri-State Warbird Museum near Greg’s Studio in Batavia to Urbana.

    2. Same day with Panchito arriving, plus Georgie’s Gal, & Yankee Warrior with the other 2 doing the practice movement for tomorrow, as well as a mention of Walt Disney’s Three Caballeros during the history of B25 Panchito.

    3. A ride on Axis Nightmare again, this time with the trio alongside the plane itself as well as music that has still images, plus Miss Hap arriving, & 4 planes landing & departing for the passengers.

    4. The next day: Saturday November 9th with all 5 putting on a show while going to Dayton & back from both the ground & inside Miss Hap, Georgie’s Gal, & of course Axis Nightmare, as well as early morning work, plus T-6 TA-254 preparing for tomorrow’s photo shoot with Georgie’s Gal for a Magazine article.

    5. Highlights at the Air Force Museum

And 6. Axis Nightmare leaving Urbana Sunday November 10th while the credits roll, plus there’s a bonus music video.

Deleted scenes of the 10-year-old event were shown in one of Greg’s newest titles: Warbirds ’13 to ’16.

This is a real classic aircraft, used highly during WWII. It is a real treat to see one flying today. Sleek and fast, with 2 beautiful engines. A great Dvd mainly focused on the Doolittle Raid. Great footage of this aircraft too. A must have for any WWII aircraft buff. 5 stars.
