It’s the spring of 1986 and Canada’s largest steam engine has just been rebuilt and is heading to Vancouver for Steam Expo. You are inside the cab with the crew and get to see the engineer and fireman and see tracks ahead. In addition there are trackside views and helicopter scenes west of Kamloops, B.C.

Canadian National 4-8-2 number 6060 is the only operational mountain type locomotive in North America. In 1986 after undergoing a major rebuild in Jasper, the engine headed for Steam Expo 86 in Vancouver with a train of grain cars and a caboose. This video, originally made by Rail Innovations, has never been put on DVD. Now that we own the video, we have put it together for DVD and have included a couple of extra scenes not in the original show. The main part of the program is footage shot by a crew member inside the cab between Boston Bar and Vancouver. You get to see inside the engine cab, with the crew at work several times, plus get to see the track ahead looking over the engineer’s shoulder. In addition, we have footage trackside and from a helicopter between Kamloops and Vancouver.

  1. Ricky

Originally produced in 1987 by rail innovations, it was originally a 38 minute video, but the bonus 7 minutes however was a deleted scene montage from the sky with terrible sound. Instead Greg erased the sound with a couple of unidentified relaxing songs from gene Michael productions. Also it includes previews of other Canadian themed videos that Greg made as well as all 3 of his GTW 6325 footages from the Ohio central.
